• Eleanor Friedberger Signs to Frenchkiss Records + New Single, Video & Tour Dates!

Eleanor Friedberger has released a new song entitled “False Alphabet City,” her first new material since 2013’s critically acclaimed album Personal Record, and her first release as a signee to NYC’s seminal indie label Frenchkiss Records.

In April 2015, Eleanor took a break from recording to perform in the visual artist Sara Magenheimer's (http://www.saramagenheimer.com/) film False Alphabets, in which she plays a New York City radio DJ, the true voice of the city. Eleanor adapted Sara's script into songs and performed them with her band at Recess (http://www.recessart.org/), at the SOHO gallery that hosted Sara's residency.  "False Alphabet City" became the anthemic theme song for this video-based artwork about language, music and the radio voice as a life-line in our contemporary atmosphere of cultural alienation.

  • The Bright Light Social Hour Premiere “Back And Forth” Live Video, Reveal Tour Dates

The Bright Light Social Hour have partnered up with ARTISTdirect.com to debut this exclusive live performance video of "Back and Forth." It was shot at Stubb's in their hometown of Austin, TX during the release show for their phenomenal new offering, Space Is Still the Place. The band—Curtis Roush [guitar, vocals, synths], Jack O'Brien [bass, vocals, synths], Joseph Mirasole [drums, synths], and Edward Braillif [touring keyboards]—crafted a unique, unmatched, and undeniable epic with their latest album. It merges psychedelic expanse, blues phrasing, and rock bombast into a body of work that's as fascinating as it is fiery.

About the video, Jack had this to exclusively say to us, "That release show at Stubb's, it was one of those nights. We were just so elated to finally be sharing this new album with the world, I'm surprised all the atoms that make us up were able to stick together. 'Back and Forth' is an old one that we gradually updated to fit better with some of the new stuff. The extended intro and modular synth stuff Edward's doing really refreshed it for us. Very excited to be taking all this new stuff on the road again this fall, see how it continues to evolve."

In addition to premiering the clip, the boys also revealed their upcoming fall tour dates!
